Motor Yacht Loon – The First Superyacht to Live Stream the Entire Atlantic Crossing

With two hurricanes in the middle of the Atlantic and one going over Florida next week, Motor Yacht Loon couldn’t have picked a more dramatic time to live stream the Atlantic crossing on their YouTube Channel.

Started on Saturday October 5th at the beginning of their adventure, viewers are watching the full crossing from Gibraltar, Spain to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with Captain Paul and the Loon crew live streaming all 2800 – 3500 nautical miles of the trip, which should take 16 to 17 days in total.

The Atlantic crossing has never been broadcast or live streamed before due to large gaps in coverage in the middle of the ocean. However, thanks to vastly improved coverage by Starlink’s high performance marine satellite, Loon can now continuously live stream their trip on YouTube, as well as posting daily updates on Instagram.

The crew promise twice daily check ins on the live stream at 09:00 and 18:00 CET that will allow fans to follow along on Loon’s annual superyacht migration heading to Florida in preparation for the upcoming Caribbean season.

Previous Atlantic adventures have seen the Loon crew rescuing sailors in distress, embarking on some wild deep-sea fishing, and letting their hair down after a hectic summer charter season. This year with Hurricane Kirk in Loons path, and another storm spooling up right now, the oceanic journey promises to be an even bigger adventure.

In just two days over 43,000 people have watched the live stream, and an avid community has developed in the comments section, with many people sharing they have Loon permanently streaming on their TV’s or laptops.

If and when the hurricanes hit, the live stream will share first hand footage of what it is like to navigate extreme mid Atlantic conditions in a superyacht.
