FunAir joins the United States Superyacht Association with premier space in new area of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

FunAir have recently joined the USSA and have the premier space in the new American section of the Superyacht Pavilion. American born FunAir can be found at the entrance to the new American section and opposite the USSA Lounge at booth 801.

The leading superyacht inflatables manufacturer will be showcasing a new lounger design, the popular Climbing Wall and in partnership with Oceanemo, the Sports Utility Yacht, a range of 3D printed replica FunAir products on a mesmerising digital display table.

Having recently launched the all new FunAir Playground and Junior BigAir Blob, FunAir will be meeting with Owners and Captains at FLIBS to get feedback on new products and discuss the next big launch in inflatable yacht toys.

A redesign of a firm family favourite, the FunAir Playground has a slide, climbing frame and leaving off point for a smaller version of the very popular BigAir Blob, which like its big brother has stabilising outriggers that stop it turning in the ocean, and an inflatable stand-off that keeps it in place. Friends and siblings can jump from the playground straight onto the blob and launch their partners into the air.

The Playground can be tethered to the yacht out at anchor, and also works as the perfect accessory for families when it is secured in shallower waters on beach days.

Standing 3.5m tall when inflated, the playground has non-slip material on the steps, comfort grip climbing holds and ultra slick vinyl. This eliminates the need for a coversheet and reduces weight and pack size. The Junior Big Air Blob is also made from commercial grade 1000 denier PVC with FR and UV ratings. Total set up time is just 30 minutes.

Bluewater Crew Training and The Triton have partnered to develop a seminar series for the 2018 Refit Show, January 10-11, 2018, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Kevin Petrovsky, chief academic officer at Bluewater, said, “The refit process involves a wide variety of expertise and experience that must be well organized and coordinated. This seminar series is designed not only to provide an overview of the process, but to provide practical and tangible guidance at each stage of the process.”

FunAir Announces Partnership with Sealed Air Repairs

FunAir Announces Partnership with Sealed Air Repairs Mobile Service Centre for Superyacht Inflatables

Florida
As the global leader in manufacturing inflatable yacht toys, FunAir continue to innovate and ahead of the winter season have announced a partnership with Sealed Air Repairs who opened a Florida based mobile service centre for all inflatable yacht toys earlier this year.

SAR has a mobile service centre that will cover the Floridian coastline offering to pick up your toys and make sure they are clean, dry and ready to inflate the fun, before dropping them back to the yacht. For larger jobs and when working on the biggest inflatables Sealed Air Repairs will collect the product and take it back to their headquarters where the toys can be laid out, inspected and worked on in a clean and secure environment.

The service centers offer a great solution for busy charter yachts who don’t have time to fully clean and maintain their toys, or superyachts about to have a refit who want to make sure they are professionally cleaned, dried, packed and stored before yard time.

In this first season SAR have reported that there have been a surprising number of simple maintenance tasks on the books. It seems there are many yachts that have favourite inflatable yacht toys that have sat in storage because they had lost a couple of D rings, or the guide ropes had gone missing. People just didn’t know where to go to get this servicing, parts and maintenance work carried out; but also didn’t want to throw away a product that had given them so much enjoyment.

John Courtney, MD of yachting at FunAir explained, “We are pleased to announce that Sealed Air Repairs will be our official service centre for the Fort Lauderdale and East coast yachting community. Their online parts store is one of a kind and very convenient for people who have misplaced accessories over the years. Their servicing is of the highest quality and we are happy to leave any maintenance tasks that the yachts prefer to outsource, in the capable hands of SAR.”

Mark Anastasia, founder of SAR commented, “ We are excited to be the first mobile service center for yacht toys and have already had an overwhelming response in this first season. From cleaning and servicing top of the range inflatables to make sure they last for years to come, to repairing some of the lower quality items that have found their way into the superyacht sphere, we have been extremely busy since our launch. “

C4C Riders starting at CRUK HQ

Cogs4Cancer 1400km endurance ride for cancer research starts today

Help Cogs4Cancer Make it a Million in 2017 – Current total raised €934,331

Antibes, France

Today 30 keen amateur cyclists who all work in the superyacht industry will leave Cancer Research UK head quarters in London to ride approximately 1400km over 10 days to Antibes, France in aid of raising funds for both CRUK and local French cancer charities.

The team of superyacht Captains and industry professionals have already raised €229,000 this year with the previous three rides in 2013, 2014 and 2015 raising over €700,000. They plan to #MakeItAMillion in 2017 and with your help, break the €1,000,000 Euro barrier.

Cogs4cancer superyacht charity cyclists

As well as supporting the brave riders by donating via the Cogs4Cancer website, you can join the riders on Friday 13th October for the final 60km Tribute Ride from Gréolieres to Antibes, or support the peleton with 10km to go from Port Gallice to the finish line in Port Vauban, Antibes. The final 60km is downhill all the way making it perfect for supporters of all ages who live along the French Riviera. http://cogs4cancer.org/2017-tribute-ride

Port Vauban and the IYCA are gearing up for the arrival of the courageous C4C cyclists who will end their 10 day journey and 1400+ km in the saddle from London to Antibes, on the 13th of October in Port Vauban, Antibes.

Upon arrival at Port Vauban at around 5pm, a Home Coming cocktail will be served in the Bastion St Jaume, and the wonderful Pink Ladies of Gourmet Deliveries will provide a selection of delicious food and drinks. Colgan’s Brewery is also proud to support this open event with a mobile bar; and all money raised at the event will of course go straight to the charity.

Port Vauban who were taken over in January by VAUBAN 21 SAS with shareholders including the Chamber of Commerce, Caisse de Dépôt and Caisse d’Epargne; and over the next 10 years will renew and reclaim Port Vauban as The first Marina in the Mediterranean, and invest an incredible 135 Million Euros to bring Port Vauban and Antibes back to its former glory.

Cogs4Cancer Welcome banner at Port Vauban

Cogs4Cancer would not be possible without the support of many local Yachting companies based along the Cotes D’Azur. As well as sponsoring the Home Coming Event, Gourmet Deliveries provide sustenance and support for both the riders and support crew throughout the 10 day challenge across England and France; and this year will be feeding over 50 people each day without running water or electricity, often serving lunch at the roadside.

Gabi & Helen from Gourmet Deliveries with chefs Ruth & Alan Williams from Ruth William Traiteur will be providing everything the riders and support people will need for this epic journey with 2 vans, ingenuity and of course amazing provisions. Gourmet Drinks & Tobacco EGP are also on board to provide the much needed water and soft drinks for everyone.

C4C 2017 riders first stop in U.K crop

Debbie and Jodi at Marine Medical Antibes are back in the support team again; sharing over 20 years experience and providing an extensive customised medical kit, including defibrillator, oxygen, bandages, splints, medications creams and lotions.

Jodi explained, “Almost everyone has been touched by Cancer in one way or another, and it is great to be in the club of ‘doing something about it’. We have been involved since 2014 providing medical back up during the Ancona-Antibes and Barcelona Antibes rides, we feel honoured to have a role in the C4C charity.

“Being part of this crazy team is a privilege. Every day during the ride there is a situation that will tug at the heartstrings. The wonderful camaraderie amongst the riders and team, never letting anyone get left behind, the encouragement half way up a steep climb, the laughs, the drink and food stops where we all get so well fed and watered and the mandatory joking around at the end of the day makes it very special.”

The riders will also be supported by a team of experienced osteopaths from the European School of Osteopath who will be ‘on hand’ to provide deep tissue treatments and holistic care whenever needed.

Completing the support team, the De Keizer Marine family van will be along for the ride supporting the riders all the way to Antibes. No matter if it’s carrying luggage, helping out, serving drinks, or just giving some moral support. They will also be documenting the journey with their team of photographers. This video from the team explains why they are supporting Cogs4Cancer. Make sure you grab a tissue before you watch. https://vimeo.com/236586661

To celebrate this epic challenge and hopefully raising more than a million Euros for cancer research, there will be an end of ride (and end of season) After Party on Saturday October 14th on the roof terrace at The View Restaurant Club in Juan Les Pins. The party kicks off from 8pm till late. There will be a DJ, Contortionist, Magician, male and female Go Go Dancers and lots more fun to be had, all provided by sponsors Square Foot Storage and GF Entertainment.

After Party tickets are limited and €20 in advance (€25 on the door) and you can get them from Geoffreys of London in Antibes, Square Foot Self Storage or from the SuperYacht Management office in Golfe Juan. As always all money from ticket sales go directly to the charity and is donated to help Cancer Research.

Playing around with FunAir at MYS 2017

FunAir traditionally inflate the Fun each year at Monaco Yacht Show and launch something new to the superyacht toy market. This year they will be showcasing the new FunAir Playground and Junior BigAir Blob.

FunAir Playground Junior BigAir Blob

The Playground can be tethered to the yacht out at anchor, and also works as the perfect accessory for families when it is secured in shallower waters on beach days.

Standing 3.5m tall when inflated, the playground has non-slip material on the steps and top, comfort grip climbing holds and ultra slick vinyl on the slide. This eliminates the need for a coversheet and reduces weight and pack size. The Junior Big Air Blob is also made from commercial grade 1000 denier PVC with FR and UV ratings. Total set up time is just 30 minutes.

John Courtney, MD of Yachting commented, “Part of the reason we work hard on developing our innovation partnerships is to make sure we get regular feedback on our existing products, what the owners, guests and crew would like to see in the future, what affects the use of our products and where we can improve everyone’s yachting experience.

“The Playground was developed because of our partnership with Titan Fleet who needed a durable playground that was robust and could be used by kids large and small. We redesigned it to make it lighter, taller and more stable. Combining the Playground with our Junior BigAir Blob gave Titan Fleet the perfect activity centre for their fleet of charter yachts.”

The redesigned FunAir Playground with Junior BigAir Blob will be on the water, displayed outside the official MYS Captains and Crew Lounge next to the Yacht Club throughout Monaco Yacht Show 2017.

To contact FunAir directly, arrange a meeting during MYS, or to pre-order please email yachting@funair.com, or call John Courtney on +1 512 751 4276.

Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Tenders and Toys

Monaco Yacht Show launches Tenders & Toys: A new exhibition devoted to superyacht tenders and toys

Visitors to the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show will discover a brand-new exhibition area devoted entirely to the trendiest luxury tenders and water toys on the market.

The creation of the Tenders & Toys zone at the 2017 Show is the MYS’ response to the yachting industry’s goal to attract a new, younger, superyacht clientele. Entertainment is one of the leading criteria in the selection of a yacht to buy or charter with the new generation of superyacht enthusiasts.

Brokerage companies recognize that one of the criteria of a successful charter experience depends on the diversity of the leisure equipment and water toys available on board.

Located on Quai Albert Ier, Tenders & Toys will display fifteen or so tenders on two sites, one on the quay (in the extension of the Dutch HISWA pavilion) and the other on the water (opposite the Car Deck and the Starboard). Yacht owners, skippers and future clients will be able to choose their tenders from among the variety of products on view in Tenders & Toys. A wide range of tenders exists, with different characteristics for different functions – transfer to a marina, beaching on a wilder coastline, a gentle jaunt or a sportier outing – but the trend in the market is towards ever-larger boats offering performance and comfort equivalent to that of superyachts.

Tenders & Toys will thus raise the curtain on the elegant Mazu Yacht Thirtyeight, a 12m open launch for sea-going trips, or the latest Gozzo model from the Italian yard Apreamare, just introduced on 1 September. Maori Yachts will launch its new 17m tender whose ingenious design and superb performance should fulfil even the wildest dreams of its clients.

Cox Marine is coming with its new diesel engine, already hailed as a genuine revolution with a range three times greater than the average for conventional petrol engines. For its first participation in the Monaco Yacht Show Compass Tenders, double prizewinner at the Showboats Design Awards, will be highlighting its expertise in the manufacture to order of one-off tenders for superyachts. As for water toys, Tenders & Toys will present in particular a sea-kart, the new all-carbon version of which will be unveiled at the MYS, an electric surf board, and the very first underwater drone, along with a whole range of nautical accessories and inflatable structures for fun with friends or family.

The new Tenders & Toys zone will complement the range of tenders exhibited for some years already at the Monaco Yacht Show. Visitors can see another 21 tenders afloat on the Quai Jarlan, a private submarine by U-Boat Worx in the Darse Sud Plongeur zone or that of the American manufacturer Triton displayed at the entrance to the Parvis Piscine tent. And of course, two helicopters, the Agusta AW 169 (Tenders & Toys) and Bell Helicopter’s Bell 429 (entrance to the Parvis Piscine tent)!

The Starboard will also house the Show’s official Press centre (access restricted to accredited journalists) and Business centre with private meeting rooms (available only for exhibitors’ business meetings). A selection of yachting and lifestyle magazines will be freely available.

The Car Deck

Launched at last year’s MYS, the Car Deck will be set alongside the Starboard and present fifteen or so prestige vehicles, with some available for test drives by the Show’s premium clients.

The finest and cutting-edge prestige brands will be displayed including Aston Martin, Automobili Lamborghini, Bentley, Elemental Cars, Hoffmann & Novague, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Shelby by Gentleman Car.

The Holland Pavilion

HISWA, one of the longest-standing exhibiting federations at the Monaco Yacht Show, will again raise the flag of the Dutch superyacht industry with their Holland Pavilion. Eight exhibiting companies will present their best know-how, expertise and high-end nautical products.

The reconfiguration of the Quai Antoine Ier exhibition area will create a new epicentre for activities at the Monaco Yacht Show and will stand as a new milestone in the development of the Monaco Yacht Show since 1991.
